The BCI is pleased to introduce the A Year in the World of Resilience Report 2025, sponsored by Riskonnect.

Resilience has become one of the defining capabilities of modern times. Once viewed as a specialist function and a safeguard for when things go wrong, it is now an indispensable quality for modern organizations. The turbulence of recent years has redefined what it means to be prepared, pushing leaders to think beyond continuity and toward adaptability, integration, and foresight.

Yet even as resilience climbs higher on executive agendas, the journey toward harmonization remains uneven. The disciplines that make up resilience, including business continuity, crisis management, cyber resilience, and operational resilience, are converging but not yet seamlessly. Silos persist, resources are uneven and competing priorities slow progress. Technology and regulation have accelerated change, but they have also deepened the divide between those who are adapting them swiftly and those still finding their footing.
